Next week Alchemy Moon will be putting out two major pieces of work.
The first is an elite edition of the ‘fortune teller in your pocket’ effect that we know and love as Zoltar. The second great mystery is ‘The Hedge Tarote’. More of the Hedge Tarote later.
To start the party, I will give you all a taster of what is coming with Kadar.
Kadar is a beautifully aged box containing a complete cold reading system. It is just portable enough for you to take around with you to your next gig, party or psychic fair.
The whole kit is made to look like something that may have been picked up back in the 40’s or 50’s.; a fun game of fortune telling.
Inside the box are five cards depicting five fortune telling cabinets, like those old Zoltar machines from the film ‘Big’. These are the core of the system.
Also with the kit is the ‘Kadar Little Book of Fate.’ This is a simple introduction to the system. The whole thing is laid out so that you can call over a friend and open the box and start reading right away. However, the system is a deep one with resonances to Jungian psychological types, and stretching back to the Four Humours of classical antiquity. The system also has a firm grounding in western mysticism, not that any of this is immediately apparent. Hey, it is a ‘fun for all the family’ fortune telling game! But this kit is firmly aimed at the professional reader, performer and collector. So there is a second book that you will given a link for that reveals some of the deeper aspects of the system.
Also in the box you will find a board on which to cast the cards. There is a pouch with a pendulum and three dice that can be used in the game. There is also a book of innocent looking raffle tickets. The raffle tickets work as a simple tick sheet that you can easily fill in at the end of the reading and give to your sitter as a souvenir of their experience consulting Kadar. The more magically minded will also find a traditional use for the crystal ball depicted on the tickets stub!
You also get a membership card into the Kadar Klub. What is this? Stay tuned! ,more to follow!
So what does it do?
My aim with Kadar is to produce an aged and beautifully crafted version of the popular Zoltar card. Not only to produce a collectors piece, but also to expand upon and deepen the concept.
On the surface, Kadar is a positive reading system. There are no embarrassing ‘Death’ or ‘Devil’ cards to explain away! The whole reading is based on the positives of the sitters potential growth.
A Kadar reading opens up a dialogue between you and the sitter, and between the sitter and her own unconscious. It gently reveals where the sitter is in her life, what her main concerns are and what personal qualities she needs to bring to bear on the situation. The experience is positive, non threatening and focuses own the good things that the sitter can attract into her life. Professional readers will already see the practical usefulness of this approach.
Although this is aimed at the professional reader, the system is so simple on the surface that you can start making successful readings upon opening the box, even if you are ‘cold’ to ‘cold reading’. However, with time Kadar will reveal some of its deeper and more powerful secrets.
This is a major release from Alchemy Moon and is destined to be as sought after as the Cuss Cards. It is a piece of work that I am immensely proud to be bringing you.
There are twenty sets for sale at launch, ten of which are already spoken for.
How do you secure one of the remaining sets?
Keep watching!
